Rolling Mill may be broadly classified as " HOT " or " COLD "according to whether they operate on the
metal in heated or unheated condition.
2 HIGH & 3 HIGH ROLLING MILL:
Hot Mill may be further classified as
# Cogging and Blooming Mills reducing Ingots to Blooms, Billet, Sheet.
# Bar Mills Reducing Sheet Bars for Finishing in Sheets or Tin Plate Mills.
Two Rolls, which are plane or grooved mounted above each other as in " Fig 1 ", this arrangement is described as a 2 High Mill.
Such mills may be either Reversing or Non-Reversing " Fig 1 a " which is common in Cold Rolling of metals.
Reversing Mills " Fig 1 b " are preferred specially for some Hot Rolling Mills and for Cold Rolling strip in long Coils.
