Rolling of Mild, High Carbon Alloy Steel and Any Non-Ferrous Strip are rolled in 2 High and 4 High may be either Reversing or Non-Reversing.

The cold rolling of small or larger width are rolled only in coil form reducing from thicker to thinner gauges strip by Reversing process of the coil.

The latest practice is 2 High and 4 High Mill Reversing Type is to break down gauges to reduce the strip or coil to thickness ranging from 0.060 inch to 0.080 inch.

The most usual type of mill for rolling of strip metal is still the 2 High and 4 High type where both side Coiler and De-coiler are required to operate "Reversible" type Strip Mills.
